Thuringia is the Green Heart of Germany, you can travel from all the metropolises in just a few hours. That is of course a wonderful advantage. Especially when the whole family from all points of the compass wants to get together once again.
But what else is so wonderful about Thuringia is that in no time at all you are in the middle of nature, with low allergen air and unbelievable peace and power. The next moment you're walking through hundreds of years of history. Nature and culture - Luther, Goethe, Bach, castles and palaces, theatre and events - Thuringia offers an incredible number of facets.
What you can do at the hotel in Oberhof
Once you have arrived at the hotel and checked into your room, we will be happy to serve you a coffee or a glass of sparkling wine. From 5 pm onwards, our bartender will be happy to welcome you with a cocktail or a recommendation from our extensive bar menu. If you have not been to Oberhof before, you should definitely start with a short tour of the town. Oberhof offers more than a hundred years of holiday history. Some of the fashionable historic houses have still been preserved. In the spa gardens you will find a small selection in pictures. Get to know our little mountain town. If you haven't arrived too late, the three-kilometre walk to the famous Oberhof sports facilities is well worth it. From the luge and bobsleigh track, to the only indoor biathlon hall in Europe, to the famous Biathlon Rennsteig Arena, to the ski jumps in the Kanzlersgrund, there is plenty to discover.
Part of your birthday surprise can also be a ride in a horse-drawn carriage or covered wagon. There are daily horse-drawn carriage rides in Oberhof, or you can book one individually. We will be happy to put you in touch with the right people.
In the holiday region of Oberhof, you can expect plenty of opportunities for holiday activities during the following days. In Oberhof, not far from our hotel, the golf climbing park, the H2Oberhof wellness pool, the Rennsteig Garden, the Exotarium and the Glass House are the highlights. Only a few kilometres further, the Thuringian Forest awaits you with its gems of charming old towns, lovingly designed museums and castles. And the main attraction we can offer you is of course the forest itself with its countless hiking trails.
